Daniel Ratling

I joined British Sugar in 1987 initially joining as an Agricultural trainee, I worked as an agronomist for the company in England and Poland.

Daniel Ratling is Head Groundsman at Whitgift School a prestigious independent school in South London. At Whitgift Daniel manages a team of 11 across two sites, maintaining both natural sports turf and synthetic playing surfaces. Prior to taking over as Head Groundsman at Whitgift in January 2015, Daniel spent 3 years as Head Groundsman at The Honourable Artillery Company in Central London as well as time at St Albans School and Barnet Council over a career of almost 20 years. Daniel has achieved a BSc (Hons.) in Sports Turf Science on the back of completing the FdSc in the same discipline over five years of online study with Myerscough College. Prior to this he completed NVQ level 2 and 3 at Oaklands College in St Albans whilst on day release as an apprentice. Most recently Daniel was the first person to complete the IOG level 6 qualification, Professional Certificate in Turf Surface Consultancy also studied online.
